Students Of The Mumugu Rimba School Happily Welcomed The First Day Of School After TNI Renovated The School

Mumugu Nduga, Liputan21.Com – The Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad, one of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out the mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Monday, 22 July 2024, students registered at the Mumugu Rimba School happily welcomed their first day of school.

This excitement was not without reason considering that the school infrastructure had been in a damaged condition for a long time and had stopped the teaching and learning process. The 503 Task Forces intervened and invited the residents of Mumugu Village to work together to repair the damaged school infrastructure and finally on Tuesday (16/7) the repairs were completed. After that, all of the Rimba School teachers prepared for the teaching and learning process. Eventually, on Monday (22/7) the Rimba School held the teaching and learning process again and the students were very enthusiastic about welcoming it.

The Commander of 503 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, has emphasized to the Soldiers that activities to help people’s difficulties in their assigned areas are the priority in the main tasks of securing the area. Therefore, the Batas Batu Post, led by First Lieutenant Galih Widiharyo, continues to oversee the process of starting teaching and learning at the Rimba School. When the class break was held, a student named Alex Menjeh said, "Thank you Commander 503. Praise God, we can go back to school again. God bless the Soldiers."

After receiving the activity report, the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, said, "The initiative of the 503 Task Forces to oversee the start of the teaching and learning process at the Mumugu Rimba School, is the TNI's implementation in providing security support and conducting inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders, to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region."
